|
|
I emerged qt and kde. Later on I emerged tightvnc and vnc. But every time I try to start vncserver, I get the following error:
Code: | vncserver: couldn't find "Xvnc" on your PATH. |
I tried locate(1), but there is no Xvnc anywhere. On another AMD64 machine, Xvnc is located at /usr/X11R6/bin/Xvnc
I can't figure out who builds this file. My current USE flags are:
Code: | USE="gtk qt kde cdr -ldap -ssl -cups" |
Am I missing something?

That's weird - I have two machines here, both with tightvnc installed.
The x86 one has the server Xvnc as part of the tightvnc install:
Code: | emerge -pv tightvnc
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] net-misc/tightvnc-1.2.9-r1 -java +tcpd 0 kB |
But the amd64 one only has the client:
Code: |
emerge -pv tightvnc
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] net-misc/tightvnc-1.3_alpha5 -java +tcpd 1,721 kB |
As the use flags are the same, maybe the version number difference is significant? _________________ Well, the Sister was right. You boys could use a little churching up. Slide on down to the Triple Rock, and catch Rev. Cleophus. You boys listen to what he's got to say.

I had to add "server" to the use flags for vnc to get everything built.
