Need a 2.6 iso image to boot from CDROM!!

since my upgrade to kernel 2.6 ive had to reboot and SILO dies on the S......
My 2006.0 minimal cd will work, but i cant chroot to /mnt/gentoo to run silo from the root partition.

Also typing gentoo root=/dev/sda1 causes the following on boot

The Knoppix LiveCD, comes with an 2.6 Kernel.

Try this and probe if you can mount with this your Harddrives.

I cant mount them with the 2000.6 install cd

mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/gentoo

I cant chroot to run silo though...............

ummm just thought about this.... how would I run knoppix on an Ultra60???

I'm not aware of a Knoppix LiveCD for SPARCs at the moment.

However, try Gustavo's experimental LiveCD at http://dev.gentoo.org/~gustavoz/sparc/experimental/ and see what happens.

Ive upgrdaded to 2.6.. everyhing was fine..
did an emerge-update system and world.. that went fine
but I believe silo got upgraded and I forgot to run "silo"
and after I rebooted, I only get
SI

I cant get chrooted into my hard disk partitions with the original 2.4 cd.. gives me funky errors..
I tried downloading install-sparc64-minimal-20060630.iso
but it doest want to boot..

It was a coaster! burned it again and now it boots fine.. thanks..
