1. Currently, session restore is not a default (only a crashed session is restored by default) and is not present in the preferences either. Open a tab and type about:config in the location bar. Create these four keys if not already present.

browser.sessionstore.enabled | Type: boolean | Value: true
browser.sessionstore.interval | Type: integer | Value: 30000 (equals 30 seconds)
browser.sessionstore.resume_session | Type: boolean | Value: true
browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once | Type: boolean | Value: true

After doing this restart firefox and you won't be missing the session saver extension anymore.

EDIT: it seems like FF2 can restore sessions with prefs->main->when my broswer starts, select restore instead of home page.

2. Here is how to disable tabs scrolling
- Enter “about:config” in the url bar and go
- Scroll down to browser.tabs.tabMinWidth
- The default set value for this is 100.
- Double click on it, and change the value to “0″ to disable tab scrolling totally
- Select a low value like 10 if you want scrolling when tabs get real small like 10px

3. Set the browser.tabs.closeButtons preference (*) to "3" to display a single close button at the end of the tab strip (like Firefox 1.5). "2" removes all the close buttons, "1" puts a button on every tab that is big enough (default), and "0" puts one only on the active tab.

Another useful tool for the beta lovers:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/958/

using this addon, you can install extensions which are deemed incompatible to firefox 2. Most extensions work ootb with FF2 beta and hence this is a great tool for enabling your favorite extension.

The new firefox Beta is interesting.
But is it possible to insert new tab next to current tab without extension now?
Either I am to stupid to find the option or it is still missing :-(

It seems like it would be useful if Firefox saved the current session upon a successful exit, not just at every interval. Does anyone know if such a thing is or can be enabled?

yeah firefox 2 is nice, but I feel like it's taking longer to actually kill the process. (even after closing firefox, the process is still there for another few seconds)
