I just installed Gentoo on a machine with SCSI disks and and get "VFS: Cannot open root device "sda2" or unknown-block(0,0)" Here is my partition layout.

Code:

/dev/sda1    reiserfs      /boot
/dev/sda2    reiserfs      /

My grub.conf contains
Code:

I forgot how to post the kernel config in a way that will not get me banned  But if somebody will reming me I'll do so.

I have reiserfs, scsi disk, OSB4 chipset, generic ide and generic pci support compiled into the kernel. The motherboard is a Super 370DER in a SuperServer 6010H.

What have I missed?

Then try to compile the module aic7xxx directly into the kernel.
