A couple of days ago I upgraded Gnome 2.12.x to 2.14.x on my desktop box...so last night I started on my laptop...I've tried a few different combos but orbit is failing every time:

Code:

..........................................

(rm -f ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface.h ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface-stubs.c ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface-skels.c ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface-common.c ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface-imodule.c ../../../include/orbit/orb-core/orbit-interface-skelimpl.c || true) > /dev/null

I've tried switching around a few use flags to see if it'd jar it loose...but no such luck. I sync'd about 15 min. before doing this (maybe an hour ago.) - so I'm up-to-date.

Here's the full command I was issuing:

Code:

USE="artworkextra -ipv6 branding bogofilter widescreen mono bzip2 dvi nautilus tiff nfs -qt3 -qt4 a52 theora nvtv avahi imagemagick graphviz jpeg2k wmf postgres beagle mng v4l vcd glitz" emerge -uD gnome

I'm on the latest portage (2.1?) kernel, and gcc - whatever the latest "stable", unmasked versions are.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Same problem here : https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-480540-highlight-orbit.html

That's strange, isn't it?

Yes...obviously something changed in the last 48 hrs. to break orbit's ebuild (or something to that effect - I'm not a gentoo dev so I'm speculating.)

I suppose I'll file a bug if one doesn't exist.

Thanks!

I wanted to emerge openoffice today and I had to migrate xorg before because xorg blocked openoffice, there's definitly a change in ports...

I get the same error from orbit 2.12.5 and 2.14, using both freetype 2.1.9-r1 and 2.1.10-r2. I've tried building with gcc-3.4.5 and 4.1.1 (both fail).

NOTE: using unofficial (nxsty) glibc, and have not tried a stable glibc. [/code]
Code:
