emerge PHP error can not find libstdc++.so

I can not 'emerge php' nor 'emerge =dev-lang/php-4*'.
Error says can not find library /usr/lib/gcc/i386/pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.la

My machine is i686 inside the make.conf.
I don't understand why portage it tries to find it inside /usr/lib/i386.
Moreover, my /usr/lib/gcc/i686/pc-linux-gnu only has 3.4.6 folder which has libstdc++.la

How do I fix it ?
