I've found one for cheap, and I'm trying to make it work in my Ultra 5 since the onboard graphics have been acting strange lately.
I can't make the monitor light up when attached to the Radeon though. What am I doing wrong? I'm an OBP noob, so it could be something there.

lspci:
Code:

in OBP show-devs shows:
Code:
/pci@1f,0/pci@1/SUNW,XVR-100@1

I can do the following, and the onboard comes up still:
Code:
devalias screen /pci@1f,0/pci@1/SUNW,XVR-100@1
reset-all

Code:

For me, I have to use the VGA port rather than the DVI port or I end up with what you are subscribing. This however is on an Blade 1000 with no onboard video.

You may have to make a new nvalias for the XVR-100 and then set the "output-device" variable in OBP to the new nvalias you made for the XVR-100.

I tried to nvalias video /pci@1f,0/pci@1/SUNW,XVR-100@1, and set it as the output device. I had neither video device output anything at that point.

I thought maybe the card was bad, but I put in a K6-2 box. I can't boot from it, but once the OS loads it shows up and works fine as a secondary card.
