For some reason, xdm is incredibly sluggish when running on a 2.6.17 kernel. By that, I mean keys can take a minute or so to show up in the login window, and Ctrl-Alt-F1 takes just as long. Once logged in, everything works as normal.
2.6.16 and earlier were fine. This is on an Ultra 5, xorg-x11-6.8.2-r8. Should I just upgrade to xorg 7.0? |
