|
|
I am rebuilding a spare C640 with the 1.8Ghz P4-M and 512MB Ram and want to choose the very best, leanest approach.
basics from cpuinfo:
stepping 7
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 - M CPU 1.80GHz
cpu family 15
cache size 512
fpu yes
cpuid level 2
wp yes
flags fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpiu mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe cid
I have partitioned my 30GB drive and not sure which stage 3 to select:
i586
i686
Any other suggestions for getting the make options right would also be appreciated. I am thinking of tracking down a CD/DVD burner for this unit and a good pcmcia wireless card and it should make a really great second (and experimental) notebook.
TIA
Will
[edit] found a good link on the make opts [/edit] _________________ ]8P
