Hi,
I have just configured iptables with the aid of guarddog. I presume that all logs are done to syslog.conf
Do we have a graphical program to inspect these logs, i am particulary interested in finding the ip addresses which are trying to crash on my server.
Thanks |

There are several programs that monitor logfiles for you -- most of them send you a daily email of the results. LogWatch is the one I'm most familiar with, but only barely at that.
Two other things -- syslogs will go into /var/log. What kind of logs are you wanting to track? Security logs or weblogs? |

I was interested in tracking security logs. Also a program which shows the logs on demand would be more acceptable than the one which sends email.
Thanks |

modlogan looks quite interesting - works with a lot of formats but is a little tiresome to set up... _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |
