What do I have to select in order to compile the orinoco_cs module?

I have scoured the kernel but cannot find the option. I have compiled the hermes module and the orinoco module, but I need to orinoco_cs module

Thanks,
Rob

Well, I do not remember that :-) but please select all modules and:

1. emerge pcmciautils
2. invoke pcmcia-socket-startup
3. enjoy.

If you will still have troubles, try to modprobe all modules (yenta, yenta-socket etc) If still - then write once again - I've the same wifi, will try to help.

actually... after making all of them modules, I found the orinoco_cs module lol... but I went ahead and used your info and it works great.
I was previously using pcmcia-cs, I unmerged that. Do I still need to have pcmcia in my default startup script?

Probably not. As I understand it, the PCMCIA hotplug system is now the same as the rest of the kernel's, so udev takes care of running pcmcia-socket-startup if it detects an insertion of a PCMCIA card via a hotplug event from the kernel.
