Cant get SHREC to work (uses OpenIventor and lesstif)

Name of software: SHREC

The Software I'm tring badly to get to do all it can is a presentation software written to
show the construction and variaties of reeb graphs

Bad thing is u can only get the binaries and no support since its a software
solemnly wirtten to show some researching results.

Thing is I need this running for a presentation I have to hold (on friday )

They state that they ran it on Redhat, which i do not own; FC4 would be a solution but i
wanna get this to run under gentoo -- should be possible now, shouldn't it

What I did so far:

emerge openinventor
emerge =lesstif-0.93.94-r4 (emerge lesstif will get u a newer version of lesstif which is incompatible)

the converter for off files didn't work on OFF files from the princton benchmark library
and for that matter the VRML1.0 converter didn't either
I wrote my own off-> ver/tir converter (if anybody wants to try to get cool SHREC
running on there machine I'd happily supply it as non commented bad python code

Exact Problem:

I get a kick in the a$$ load of errors which seem to come from lesstif still
anybody here who knows what is included in FC4 (they state it is tested on that platform as well)

might be i still need an older version of lesstif or maybe openmotif will work better.

Sry for stupid questions but i am a linux n4p when it comes to getting stuff to do what it should
I lived happily in the world of M$ OSes so far and only used dumbass distributions like SuSE to
get Linux stuff runnig.

I really don't want to kick gentoo for FC4 since other programs I need do what they are supposed to do
like a charm on gentoo.

If u need me to supply and other information (excpet bank account number, etc ) I'll be happy to
supply those.


Comming to think of it - maybe its just an outdated openinventor, but I'll wait for your responses before I
crack up my gentoo (yes it would be all me getting this done)

btw how do I get a list of all available verisons of a ebuild?
