While emerging kde-base/kdegraphics-3.1.1a-r1 (upgrade from 3.1.1), I get this error:
Code:

patching file kview/modules/template/CVS/Entries
patching file kview/modules/template/kviewtemplate.desktop
patching file libkscan/CVS/Entries
patching file libkscan/scanservice.desktop
>>> Source unpacked.

/usr/bin/autom4te-2.54: unrecognized option `--cache=autom4te.cache'
Try `/usr/bin/autom4te-2.54 --help' for more information.
make: *** [cvs] Error 1

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdegraphics-3.1.1a-r1 failed.

Wtf? I looked at the output of `/usr/bin/autom4te-2.54 --help' and I don't see any options that look similar.

I would expect a
Code:
# emerge sync
# emerge --pretend system
# emerge system
should sort this out. You've probably got an outdated version of autom4te-2. I don't know what package this comes in, so emerging system is probably the best way to go.

No go.

I did just what you said (emerge sync, emerge system), did an env-update and source /etc/profile just to make sure, and it still fails.

I looked at autom4te again, and the man page does mention a "--cache" option, but it works for me when I do it. It's only the kdegraphics build that fails on it.
