I started emerging KDE over a day ago, and have had to quit it a couple times, I notice each time the package count it is getting goes down, but overall it has been running for about a full 24 hours. What could cause this? Did I compile my kernel wrong or could I have missed something in the setup process? Thanks! _________________ After it is all over, as stupid a fellow as I am can see that mistakes were made. I notice, however, that my mistakes are never told me until it is too late.

If you don't have an AMAZING system, then that's probably normal.
You can do various things to make it go slightly faster, but if you just let it go it'll probably finish just fine. _________________ Firefox is spelled F-i-r-e-f-o-x - only the first letter capitalized (i.e. not FireFox, not Foxfire, FoxFire or whatever else a number of folk seem to think it to be called.) The preferred abbreviation is "Fx" or "fx".
