People,

I'm trying to compile gnome-power-manager but I'm getting the error:

Code:

make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/work/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/man'
docbook2man gnome-power-manager.sgml > gnome-power-manager.1
docbook2man gnome-power-preferences.sgml > gnome-power-preferences.1
make[2]: *** [gnome-power-preferences.1] Error 8
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make[2]: *** [gnome-power-manager.1] Error 8
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/work/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/man'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/work/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I have already tried to download the sources from the project FTP site and compile it but the same problem happens. Does anybody know how do I solve it?

Thanks,

Luiz.

I get a similar error when emerging gnome-power-manager-2.16.1
Code:
Making all in man

I tried searching google, these forums and bugzilla, but couldn't find a solution. Any ideas?

Actually. I'm working on this issue and I found the following error message in the working directory of the ebuild after compilation failed:

/portage/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/work/gnome-power-manager-2.14.3/man/gnome-power-manager.1
Code:

Using catalogs: /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-4.1.cat

It seems that docbook2man / docbook / this toolkit needs to have a dependancy added for the perl SGMLS::Output package.

You may also need to go through these steps: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-487420-highlight-libosp.html

But after I did that, I solved the problem by doing the following:

Code:
emerge SGMLSpm
emerge gnome-power-manager

Problem solved! My first solution!!! woohoo!!!

This is also true of at least gnome-color-manager (just verified on a fresh install). It seems the dependency on SGMLSpm is likely missing from several gnome packages. I'm off to file a bug report now.
