i've been working on this error for the last week and the only other posts I've found are simular but not the same. I've recently upgraded to gcc-3.4.6 and that went well (until I cleaned out the old versions without recompiling the system, that was a fun mess that I'm still not sure how I rescued from :)) But after the half-arse rescue I had to do I have not been able to recompile gcc-3.4.6-r1, here's the tail of the build
Code:
(cd .libs && rm -f libg2c.so.0 && ln -s libg2c.so.0.0.0 libg2c.so.0)
(cd .libs && rm -f libg2c.so && ln -s libg2c.so.0.0.0 libg2c.so)

I've run out of ideas after "emerge -e gcc" ended the same way.
This doesn't seam to be effecting anything system wise, but I just feel that something is not right and want to get it fixed, like a hangnail :D

Nice thought, but I already have /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.6/libstdc++.la

...what's this have to do with arts? It's not even close to the same error message, mine blows up with xgcc and I've checked /var/tmp/portage/gcc-3.4.6-r1/work/build/gcc/xgcc and it's there :?
