I have an epia box that was sitting neglected for a year or more. It was running ~x86.
I want to get it up to date on x86.

I deleted the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS from my make.conf.

I ran:

Code:
emerge --update --deep --pretend world

I am seeing blocked packages:

Code:
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies... done!
[blocks B     ] sys-apps/pam-login (is blocking sys-apps/shadow-4.0.15-r2)
[blocks B     ] >=sys-apps/shadow-4.0.14-r2 (is blocking
sys-apps/pam-login-4.0.14)

Can I safely unmerge either of these. I'm afraid of getting locked out and being unable to login.

Thanks
russK
