Такая вот проблемка. после обновления ядра до 2.6.16-r9 вроде. редко пользуюсь, поэтому затрудняюсь точно сказать. Ядро и vmware пересобирал после обновления системы. не помогает.. |

было такое на nitro-ядрах, на beyond пропало или сами авторы поправили? я так и не понял...
попробуй сначала поставить самое свежее обновление vmware-any-any-update101.tar.gz
если не поможет - попробуй mm-ядро, там тоже не было такой проблемы
или отключи к дьяволу эту тупую проверку, поищи там в тексте ошибку и закомментируй весь блок if {}
тупо, но мне помогло сэкономить кучу времени и сил  |

Если используете app-portage/layman, то достаточно сделать .
