Unfortunately, you didn't post the actual error message. All I can see is that it failed during compilation which doesn't say anything really. Please post all the lines from the point of the first error message and a few lines before that. |

I still need a few more lines, sorry. :)
You can try re-emerging sys-devel/libtool first, though, to see if that fixes your problem. |

Emerging libtool doesn't work for me.
I get an error message saying that dev-perl/Locale-gettext is blocking dev-lang/perl-5.8.8-r2.
By the way, I am building from stage1. Here is the relevant info. First, the error:
Code: | /usr/bin/libtool --mode=compile i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -O2 -march=i686 -pipe -mno

-strict-aliasing -Wall -DVERSION=\"2.4.32\" -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/share/locale\" -D
PACKAGE=\"attr\" -I../include -D_GNU_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -c quote.c

Next, my emerge --info:

I had to reemerge perl before I could reemerge libtool. I also run into this problem starting from a stage 1 install. It occurs when you try to emerge system, right?
Code: | emerge --oneshot perl
emerge --oneshot libtool
emerge --resume |
Fixed my problem, will hopefully fix yours. |
