Code: |
7.6M /bin
2.2M /boot
252K /dev
7.1M /etc
306M /home
8.2M /lib
0 /media
13G /mnt
149M /opt
898M /proc
2.2M /root
7.1M /sbin
0 /sys
740M /tmp
2.9G /usr
4.1G /var
|
4.1GB on /var is normal? which directory can i trash to save disk space? |

You can get rid of /var/tmp/portage/*, and /usr/portage/distfiles/* safely _________________ "XML is like violence: if it doesn't solve your problem, you're not using enough of it." |

Ausmusj1 is right. These two directories tend to fill up quickly, especially after you do emerge [OPTIONS] world commands. You can set up cron jobs to empty these directories out periodically, just make sure that this won't be done while you're trying to emerge something. _________________ Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop, 1.7 mHz Celeron M, 100 Gb hard disk, 512 Mb RAM, 2006.0, 2.6.16-r7 kernel
