|
|
Now I'm totally confused after trying this and that to fix X.
Presently stuck in main console and X won't start. Says it can't find my nvidia drivers. I've reinstalled nvidia umpteen times, still not found.
Whole thing started with this mornings:
Followed by:
Code: | emerge -a --update --deep --newuse world |
Which produced an error. Said that xorg-server-1.0.99 was blocking nvidia, but xorg-server-1.0.99 is not installed. xorg-server-1.1.0 is currently installed. I should be running modular X too. I tried unmerging nvidia and updating, no go. I tried reinstalling nvidia, no go. I tried installing xorg-server alone, got me xorg-server-1.1.0 but still no go.
I have no clue what is going on. HELP!!! |

I am getting the same problem. I think portage thinks the nVidia binaries don't like Xorg 7.1, Im not sure if that is true, I am trying to find a workaround right now. Has anyone else found a solution? |
