XFree Hang up booting "the first Time"

Hi folks,

I got a Toshiba Satellite 3000 - Problems occur when I try booting the machine.

Using Kernel 2.1.19 and KDE 3.03 it worked without problems, after i switched to 2.4.20 (now r2) and emerged KDE 3.1 the problems occured.

When I boot everything works fine - just when KDM/XFREE, I don't know the exact point of time starts the screen turns black an there is no other thing I can do than turning off the machine, doing a reboot. Then everythings working ... KDM/XFree starts - okidokey.

Has anybody encountered a similar problem, or an idea how to get it working the first boot-time?
