I was wondering if anyone knew if APM was supported with Nforce boards? I have it compiled in the kernel, but when I type APM, it says no kernel support! I also tried ACPI, but that causes issues when under X, and I don't think it worked with that compiled either. Under Winblows XP I could hit the sleep button on the keyboard and the machine would suspend. |

Under SUSE and Mandrake, APM would cause machine to lock up when the module was loaded.
This guy a red hat user had the same issue. Apparently Redhat issued an Errata kernel fix. I tried downloading it, but I can't get it to work. The kernel it installs is too big according to lilo. And their source is weird, it just installed a huge directory of patches that I don't know what to do with.

hmm I use ACPI and have APM off.
I only use it to turn off at shutdown. I never put my machine to "sleep". _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |

When I tried ACPI, I get errors trying to start X.
I have APM module loaded, but I'm unable to shutdown now -h. The system just says 'powerdown' and I have to hit the button myself. I've not even thougth about trying any other power management yet. _________________ [LRU] |
