i have a small problem with this case.
when i try to convert *jpg bla.pdf with 40MB of jpgs, my 900MB RAM+SWAP quickly fill up and then the process dies.

i can help myself by converting each jpg to a single ps and then merge them with psmerge but i am curious if this is normal?

you can merge pdfs with ghostscript:
Code:
gs -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=merged.pdf part1.pdf part2.pdf

[update]

files that i converted previously now also cant be converted anymore, i guess it was a bad idea to upgrade to the latest version.
