I noticed a minor bug in the forum Quick Search today. I typed the query "firefox parallel" in the quick search box; when I hit Enter the query was re-written as "firefox paralell." Substitutions and stopword processing aside, that's a mistake: the correct spelling is parallel. The replacement is incorrect, and as modified the search terms don't return useful results.
I know the search code is being reworked, but if these substitutions are easily configured in some way without coding, you might want to remove that one.

Moved from Gentoo Forums Feedback to Duplicate Threads in favour of post 3311162
Edit: Well, moved back. The synonyms are interpreted the wrong way round and ignored by quicksearch. It should be handled consistent, probably removed. Quite annoying since opensearch is affected.

I noticed that they were the wrong way round when working on the new search engine, but didn't realise that you got different results. The fisrt issue has already been fixed in the new search engine, I'll make sure that the second one is too.

Sorry about that, I tried to see whether it had been reported but couldn't search for "parallel...." <ducks> Better just mod me "circular."
