|
|
I added "unicode" to my USE flags recently and this ended up breaking audacity. When I try to re-emerge the program I get:
| Code: |
* Audacity will not build if wxGTK was compiled
* with unicode support. If you are using a version of
* wxGTK <= 2.4.2, you must set USE=-gtk2. In newer versions,
* you must set USE=-unicode.
|
Not wanting unicode taken completely off, I added the following to my '/etc/portage/package.use':
| Code: |
x11-libs/wxGTK -unicode
|
And now I have:
| Code: |
[ebuild R ] x11-libs/wxGTK-2.6.2-r1 +X -debug +doc -gnome +joystick -odbc +opengl +sdl -unicode 0 kB
|
But I still get the audacity error! What gives?

| Did a bit more in-depth search and found that there were some others who had a similar problem (but with some certain specifics different (version numbers and the like) and I saw someone say 'patch' somewhere, which made me think to try unmerging the masked version of audacity, which now works like a charm. |

I've got an idea why audacity failed on you and I'll ask a simple question.
Did you rebuild wxgtk before attempting to rebuild audacity? _________________ AsRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4

I honestly do not remember. I may have done a revdep-rebuild right before it, or I may have even just re-emerged it for some reason or another, but this was about a month and a half ago. Why, is there a rebuilding problem or did I do something stupid... as usual |
