I had emerged exim, but later decided to use postfix. I did the emerge -C exim. No errors or anything there.
I have had postfix up and running for a week. No problems there. In fact, I'm not having any real problems with the machine, but this annoying text comes up all the time when I'm restarting services. Any services. It could be postfix, samba, apache, whatever, doesn't matter. It says
Code: | * Service 'exim' already provided by 'mta'!;
* Not adding service 'postfix'... |
Why is it doing this and how do I make it go away?

The init file for exim is still probably in /etc/init.d/. Get rid of it, and you'll probably be fine. _________________ Mark Loeser
