|
|
I found that my bass is slightly too high, so I tried to adjust it in alsamixer but oops! there are no treble or bass adjusters. I checked the ALSA howto, which said I should unmute "Tone" to enable treble/bass control, but I don't have a tone adjuster either.
I was thinking it may be my sound card (Creative SB Live Dell OEM) since a lot of people seem to be having trouble with it?
Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs [SB Live! Value] EMU10k1X
Yet I'm pretty sure I've installed ALSA correctly.
Any help is greatly appreciated =) |

Do you know for certain that your card has tone control? _________________ Desktop: AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice Core, 2GB PC3200, 2x160GB 7200rpm Maxtor DiamondMax 10, 2x320GB WD 7200rpm Caviar RE, Nvidia 6600GT 256MB

I would expect it to. I remember being able to control bass and treble in Windows. |

I think Dell do funny things with their stuff. My laptops sound chip (an i8x0 based thingymajig) had bass and treble in Windows when I used the Dell drivers, but when I used different drivers it didn't. And they arn't there in Linux either. I never quite understood Dell anyway, they seem to do a lot of silly things... _________________ Desktop: AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice Core, 2GB PC3200, 2x160GB 7200rpm Maxtor DiamondMax 10, 2x320GB WD 7200rpm Caviar RE, Nvidia 6600GT 256MB
