I followed this thread and i can switch between compilers (now)
can't env-update though:
Code:
 # env-update

my gcc-config -l :
Code:
 # gcc-config -l

 [2] i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.4-hardened
 [3] i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.4-hardenednopie

as a quick fix - try symlinking libstdc++.so (it's somewhere in /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux/gnu/3.4.4 probably) as /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5

python should start working now. quickly emerge libstdc++-v3 and things should be resolved.

Please see this FAQ, and follow up to the thread mentioned at the bottom if you still need help: Error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5.

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads.
