running alsa-1.0.11 ,
gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
probably a blessing in disguise unless jscalibrator has been cleaned up since last time I looked

Hmmm, thats probably the problem. The reason you're getting all those errors is because it can't find jsw.h, but it doesn't look like anything provides it.
EDIT:
Emerging libjsw works fine, and it install jsw.h. Somethings gone wrong somewhere. |

Testing the build on my amd64 system, I can build 1.5.6 but 1.5.5 fails with the same error as above. So try unmasking 1.5.6 and building that, otherwise file a bug against libjsw 1.5.5. A search of bugzilla shows no one has filed a bug against libjsw before, so somebody here gets to be the very first. |

I assume that bug 141495 is the one you opened. I added the information requested.
If that was you, please understand that a link to the forums is not sufficient for a bug report. If you don't post the error messages in the bug, then someone else searching bugzilla for those messages won't find them. |
