hello i am reinstalling gentoo after some hdd coruptions problem
distcc:
my computer is slow so i plan to use distcc, not for distributed compiling but for compiling the packages of my piii laptop on my sempron desktop
i don't find anymore the distcc tutorial that was explaining distcc in a server/client point of vew(i don't plan to use the laptop for distcc because it would be too noisy because it would start the fan)
do someone remember where it was?
Reguarding the absence of pentium3 stage3:
i noticed that there was not anymore stage compiled for the processor
is there a maneer to re-emerge ALL package installed for obtimising them
will it take a lot of time
and why aren't there anymore such stages?

DISTCC
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/cross-compiling-distcc.xml
No idea about xorg, sorry
About the stage, Download the i586 stage3, Set your make.conf to your processor and then when your install is ready for prime time do a stage 2
Code: | emerge --update system |
EDIT: I use --update system and not world because i always do a minimal install before adding a graphical enviroment. |
