|
|
I'm wanting to change the name of the gentoo box for all users to something different. I wanted to check if i can just do this in the hosts file? If i change that will it effect the logon prompt etc?
What are the chances of it messing up other configurations? |

You will also need to change /etc/conf.d/hostname.
And/or possible /etc/hostname if you are using it.

Don't use /etc/hostname. The one in /etc/conf.d works just fine. |
