I just found this http://www.thehostingnews.com/article2245.html. Does Gentoo participate in this? If not, then why not?

Its a news link about Linux Standards Base and how several large Linux or Linux related businesses have agreed to follow the new standards laid out (ver. 3.1).

Gentoo doesn't claim to be LSB compliant, but implements parts of it.

Personally I feel LSB is very important for Linux (but deffinitly not the most important thing).
