|
|
I've torn through the forums and none of the suggestions seem to solve my problem.
I'm trying to install the Gnome battery monitor applet using emerge.
Here's the problem:
Code: | minilaptop ~ # emerge battstat
Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "battstat" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- gnome-extra/battstat-2.0.11 (masked by: missing keyword)
- gnome-extra/battstat-2.0.13 (masked by: missing keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook. |
I added the battstat data to my package.keywords file as follows without luck:
Code: | >=gnome-extra/battstat-2.0.11 -*
>=gnome-extra/battstat-2.0.13 -* |
The suggestions in this thread didn't help, either.
I tried utilizing the -* and ~* suggestions. Neither panned out.
My initial attempt was utilizing the ~amd64 option and, obviously, that didn't work.
Any suggestions from the crowd? _________________ Regards

Solved my own problem.
I installed acpi and then reran the gnome-applets install.
So basically just...
Code: | emerge acpi
emerge gnome-applets |
The only other thing I did was add acpi to my USE variable. _________________ Regards
