japanese in openoffice

I'm trying to get japanese fonts working in OpenOffice but can't figure it out. I have emerged 'kinput2' 'canna' and 'kochi-fonts', and they work in mozilla, and gvim, etc, but cannot get openoffice to acknowledge my japanese fontset.

Anyone have any luck with this?
