Hi
I have 946GZ onboard intel graffic card and I can' set framebuffor working on my system. I know that kernell support for my hardware is week and it could be couse but gentoo minimal enables framebuffor on my box. I have 2.6.17-r7 version of kernell on gentoo minimall. I suppose that could be vesafb instead of dedicated driver for intel card but I can't enable even this.
pleas help

i think you can use the livecd to determine which framebuffer it is getting to work, by using
lsmod
also, if that doesnt work, you can pass in various framebuffers the live cd supports at the initial prompt; you can try them all to verify which one will work for certain, maybe more than one does.
if youre already using the same fb as the live cd perhaps youre missing some other driver in the kernel configuration. are you passing the framebuffer as an option to your kernel in either grub or lilo?
video=<your framebuffer>

I fallow your advice and I've faund :
in bootmenager I have to use vga=791, append="vesafb...." doesn't work.
With this framebuffor started to work.
