I'm trying to install Gentoo on my athlon
and am having trouble getting dhcpcd to work with my network card.

System
Asus A77?? MB (can't recall offhand but supprts ddr etc...)
Athlon 1700
256mb ram

hda 30gigs(Working gentoo installation compiled on a pentium)
hdb 40 gigs(Want to install gentoo on here compiled with Athlon opts)

NICs - NetGear(tulip)
RealTek(ne2k-pci)

Both of these NICs work fine under the old gentoo install.

When I boot from the live cd I have no luck getting either to work.
I've tried pulling one out and also switching pci slots to no avail.

The exact error is
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out.
eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x2, t=409.

Does anyone have a clue as to what could be the problem? Any solutions suggestions?

Thanks
