Not sure about this one...
Is there any way to get an outside connection into my computer that's running DHCP, through a WLAN linksys router?
I broke, now, so I can't afford a hostname.

What is it your trying to do?
I assume your using private addressing, that I doubt your ISP will route even if you did set up your router to forward the DHCP broadcast. But if your just trying to connect to your home computer just use the IP that your ISP assigned to you... use an app like SSH or VNC to connect to it.

what if I want to grab files from it or host a website to whatever the IP of the router is?

The easiest way to accomplish this is to use port forwarding on your router. Refer to your router documentation on how to forward ports with your particular one. For example, if you want to run a web site on an internal machine, forward port 80 to that machine's IP address. You should use a static address for any machine that is going to be acting as a server.

As for a hostname, go check out www.dyndns.org and sign up for a free dynamic host.

Is there a way to assign the local IPs to each machine instead of having the router's DHCP server handle it?
This is what I tried:
First, I set the router to use it's DHCP server functionality for only 50 users, starting its assigning at the local IP - 192.168.10.50. Then, when I went to set up the computer side, I entered these values:

    IP address - 192.168.10.2 ( also tried x.100 )
    Subnet - 255.255.255.0 <- is listed as Router's Subnet
Gateway - 192.168.10.1 <- is number listed as Router's IP
DNS server- 192.168.10.1 <- also, the Router's IP address

I can only view the network with this setting. The internet only works if I have the computers find their IP&DNS automatically.

ummm... I don't think that your linksys router is doing DNS for you, you should probable change that to your ISPs DNS server...

DNS servers will be assigned by DHCP, but they aren't necessarily providing that service.

Whatever is set to be the DNS server on the Linksys router is what you should set as the DNS server on your clients.

You should also be able to assign IPs on the DHCP server by MAC address, meaning that you can tell the Linksys box to always give xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IP to client with MAC address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
