Se puede comprobar que grub esta correctamente instalado y configurado??
tengo:
hda1 = boot
hda5 = sistema2
hda7 = sistema1

Aun asi, dice que no es un disco booteable cuando arranco desde el, y antes de desechar el disco .. me gustaria asegurarme

pero ... grub se llega a ver ? Si no es asi, es un error que te dice la bios, no grub.

Perdon por no especificar, es la BIOS la que lo dice.
He vuelto a instalar grub y funciono dos veces, luego dejo de ir otras tantas y a la 5 volvio a arrancar 
Creo que no hay duda de que el disco esta mal, en cualqueir caso me gustaria saber si existe algun metodo de comprobar que grub esta instalado conrrectamente en el MBR, mire las opciones de grub pero no econtre nada.

si funciona cuando le dá la gana y los mensajes vienen de bios, o bien son los cables o el disco duro, creo que no hay mas que eso.
Gracias a dios grub o funciona o no funciona ( al menos en mi experiencia), no funciona cuando le sale de las pelotas  . Además, si tuviera algún problema pá grabarse en el mbr, te lo diría al ejecutar setup.
