Setting up ProFTPd with MySQL?

I was wondering if anybody knew a way of setting up Proftpd so that one could have virtual user accounts using a mysql backend. i'd really appreciate any help, as i have had limited success finding any good documentation on the topic.

not exactly for proftp - but there is a tutorial on this for an MTA and mysql in the documentation section on www.gentoo.org perhaps that helps...
