|
|
In the last 2 years i've done about 5 gentoo installations on this machine. Eeverytime no matter how i set it up, if i use KDE after i try to logout everytime kicker will crash. It seems this is only a problem on this machine as i've done Gentoo setup's on other people's computers and it works fine. It also only begins after i change panel properties from the default. It's color, transparency, etc.
Any idea what could be causing it? Other than kicker KDE is fairly stable, as stable as KDE is anyway. |

I also have the Kicker crash. My cflags are: "-march-pentium4 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" _________________ Draft Windows-to-Linux Guide |

Search the forums, you'll find a million and one threads about this, as well as countless bug reports. It is a known issue.
As far as I can see, the reason kicker crashes on exit is because it requires klauncher to close, but for some reason klauncher is closed before kicker is. I don't know the ins and outs of KDE, so I also have no idea to test this theory. _________________ Desktop: AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice Core, 2GB PC3200, 2x160GB 7200rpm Maxtor DiamondMax 10, 2x320GB WD 7200rpm Caviar RE, Nvidia 6600GT 256MB
