Is there a way to get gnome-extra/gnome-power-manager-2.22.1(and earlier) to work correctly with a 2.6.24 kernel?
the problem is something to do with the "new" /sys/class/power_supply/ in favor of the deprecated /proc/acpi stuff.
When I enable both g-p-m sees 2 batteries and it uses an average of the values, which is useless. with the sys/class/power stuff only, the battery level is correct on startup, but never changes which is equally useless.
As a long shot I have tried USE=apm etc. in hal, none of it makes a difference.
How do I go about fixing this? |

well no, I'm wondering if I can get away from the depricated stuff. anyway if i have it enabled it will show me 2 batteries, and i remember needing the future power /sys interface for something, although I can't remember for what atm. |

nevermind, upstream hal has a patch, so I'll just have to wait. |
