Can't open boot device-Sparc64-Ultra60-after install

After entering "boot disk" or "boot" on an Ultra60 I get the message "can't open boot device" after initial software installation.

My silo.conf file reads

partition = 1
root = /dev/sda1
image = /boot/kernel-2.4.32-sparc-r2


My partition table reads as follows:

/dev/sda1 0 1500 1536000 83 Linux Native
/dev/sda2 1500 2012 524288 83 Linux Native
/dev/sda3 0 17272 17686528 5 Whole Disk
/dev/sda4 2012 4060 2097152 83 Linux Native
/dev/sda5 4060 6108 2097152 83 Linux Native
/dev/sda6 6108 17272 11431936 83 Linux Native


My /etc/fstab reads as follows


/dev/sda1 / ext3 noauto,noatime 1 1
/dev/sda2 none swap sw,pri=0 0 0
/dev/sda4 /usr ext3 noatime 1 2
/dev/sda5 /var ext3 noatime 1 2
/dev/sda6 /home ext3 noatime 1 2

/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto, ro 0 0

none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
none /proc/openprom openpromfs defaults 0 0


Is there anything I've done wrong here or any suggestions to remedy the boot problem?

This is on an ultra60 using single disk

Ok, I think I have a start by using boot Disk1. It at least finds the disk and attempts to boot but says it cannot find the /boot/kernel.......

Ok by using Boot Disk1 at the ok prompt

i.e. ok: Boot Disk1

then selecting "linux"


I also needed to change the silo.conf file to read

image = /boot/2.4.32-sparc32-sparc-r2

instead of /boot/kernel-2.4.32.sparc-r2

After those changes, the system boots to login:

Ok, now I move on to next step.
