I am trying for the first time a Gentoo-Sparc installation. Following the installation instruction the best I know how, I came to the point of the Necessary System tools section. When I come to the point of (emerge dhcpcd) under networking tools, the system attempts to access a repository and fails. The rest of the packages I emerge comes right from this disk. The package appears to be in portage. My understanding is I need this package to access the internet. The system is connected to a dhcp router. It is an Ultra60. Any help would be most appreciated. I searched the forums and came up with nothing like this, at least I did not find it mentioned.
Thanks,

I started from scratch again. This time emerge dhcpcd was successfull, although it still accessed the net to get a package. Now if I could just get the system to boot! _________________ Boomer Sooner |
