Hey guys
i just emerged KDE, i did NOT create a config file.. now i launch kde by /etc/init.d/xdm start ....
this works fine. im able to do everything i like to, resolution is OK.. but the scroll function on the mouse is missing
now i would like to know if.. when i launch kde and there is NO /etc/X11/xorg.conf .. what config file does it use by default.. and when its running.. is there a config file kde has created so i can copy and edit this file?
thx for the replies! _________________ _ Got Root? _ |

I'm not really sure if I'm right. But I think it tries to configure itself. But I don't know if it saves it somewhere. There should be generated a log in /var/log/messages/ for xorg. Look at the log for finding out what Xorg is doing. |

You can make a new config with xorgconfig. But you should see in the log file wich config X server uses. You have to look at the beginning of the log when starting X. You could also look if there is a config in /root/ or /etc/X11/. It should be named xorg.conf. |

ok, so you are pointing me to /root and /etc/X11
so you think xorg will create a config in /root or /etc/X11 when booting? _________________ _ Got Root? _ |
