Recently, i bought a intel pro/wireless 2200. I follow the instructions in gentoo-wiki.com, i installed the latest drivers and firmware, but when i do:
Quote:
waterhouse wel # iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 unassociated ESSID:off/any
Mode:Managed Channel=0 Access Point: Not-Associated
Bit Rate=0 kb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm
Retry limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

eth2 no wireless extensions.

Unassociated?, crap, here must be something like ieee802.11, but it doesn't. What's going on?

That just means it hasn't connected to any Access Point. Have you set up your /etc/conf.d/wireless correctly?

No, that's not the point. When i set up the wireless connection, i can view the name of the ap in the Access point field (it shows "not associated" in the quote). The problem is in the field that shows "unassociated".
