|

I'm a bit new to gentoo, so forgive me if I'm not giving enough info or use the wrong terms
I've got a pretty generic i686-pc-linux-gnu install. ran "emerge --sync && emerge -uDN world" yesterday and successfully updated everything. Then I added 'ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"' to make.conf to see if I could update to testing packages and got the following:
!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!! /usr/portage/distfiles/bash31-010
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 5218
!!! Expected: 1829
I've tried deleting this file, re-emerging, changing my mirrors, resyncing and re-emerging, but continue getting the same error. What else am I missing, or what can I look into to try to resolve this?

I'm trouin go do an Stage1 install, and I've just started to do Emerge -e System, and I get exactly the same error.
I'm also using ACCEPT KEYWORD="~x86" |

Looks like somebody reported this as a today ... no response yet, but it's something to keep track of if nobody posts a response here:

Per the bug report, this issue is fixed in cvs -- I've emerge synced and emerged world and all is well. |

--sync didn't help here:
!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!! /usr/portage/distfiles/bash31-010
!!! Reason: Failed on RMD160 verification
!!! Got: 39a2f836a7f11eba12c50ee0adaade80b81c5e16
!!! Expected: 9228d25e84180f576892ee6c9c3da8262e201269 _________________ niemand is onbekwamer, dan een timmerman zonder hamer

syncing alone didn't do it for me, I had to also rm /usr/portage/distfiles/bash31-0*
That fixed it on all my machines.

Code: | rm /usr/portage/distfiles/bash31-010 |
and emerge again.

Fixed mine too.
I haven't updated world in about two months, only updated system files....could that have caused this problem?

Won't think that this is the reason for it. My last full system/world update was done on 03.03.2006.
This files has changed! |

i cant begin to say how FSCK'n annoying this problem was....
i fought w/ what i thought was failing hardware generating corrupt md5 hashes, and it turns out one stupid bash file was causing the problem...
of corse once i figured out all the hardware was correct, in less than 5 minutes on the forums the issue was resolved.

Thanks everybody... I've been banging my head against this one for a while. Exact same issue, exact same solution.
