Partition check:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p3

hdc: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
hdc: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }

hdc: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
Could you explain me or refer me to a doc..
(in case it will crash... It doesn't matter... windows is on this hardisk and I doesn't use it anymore.. juste sometimes to take bin for wine)

This is an ide error and has been mentioned several times recently. One fix was to replace the ide cable and the other person removed chipset support (for their chipset) from the kernel and used generic dma.
Generally these errors should just slow things down and shouldn't cause crashes. My understanding of what's happening is the drive is sending data to the OS and it's failing the crc check which means the data is getting corrupted in transmission so then the drive has to resend it, this can cause hitches in system responsiveness. |
