Nvidia Refresh Issue

I have just installed the nvidia-kernel drivers and have noticed that there are issues with the refresh. for some reason when i log in via gdm i the root window does not change and opened windows are not being displayed. anyone ever have this issue?

I have an nvidia GeForce MX 4000. The issue was with the stable nvidia-kernel drivers. I switched to the "nv" driver and that helped fix the issue; however lacked the performance. I unmasked the newer nvidia-kernel drivers and that seemed to fix the issue.
