|
I have tried mounting a dvd but whenever i mount it always gives the same error
Code: | tane@DreamMachine ~ $ mount /mnt/cdrom/
mount: /dev/cdroms/cdrom0: can't read superblock |
My fstab is set to auto, and i can load other dvd's with no problem.
Its a data dvd with some of my music on and its really annoying me since i just cant listen to music.
Maybe i missed sth out in the kernel? Not quite sure?
Has someone had similar problems??

Have you tried using the Disk in another machine to see if it might be a bad disk?
Also here is my /etc/fstab line, and it works fine for me.
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/DVD iso9660 noauto,users,unhide 0 0 |

Quote: | I tried the iso9660 but that didnt help, its a combo so i should have auto instead of iso9660. |
I have a combo drive as well and the iso9660 works for me. Although I'm not exactly sure why it has to be auto
The unhide option is used to show files that are hidden on a windows machine.
If in windows, you mark a file as hidden, the unhide option will automaticly show the hidden files.
I had it in there for some testing I was doing with windows stuff. |

aha well i wont need that since i dont have windows on my machine hehe.
Well as far as i know iso9660 is mainl for cd and udf for dvd thats what i kind of read on this forum
Well i get a different error with iso9660 here it is
Code: | mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/dvd,
or too many mounted file systems |
I am not sure if that helps
Well small dvd like 1 or 2 gig work fine just dvd around 4 gig the seem not to work. there seemed to be an error with k3b and large dvd's but i didnt burn them k3b i burned them with nero
